YOGA INSTRUCTORS
Naomi Deyoe, RYT
From her late teens through her mid twenties, Naomi suffered from an undiagnosed illness, which kept her from the activities she had previously enjoyed-running, soccer, and dance. By the time she was diagnosed with Grave's Disease, the effects of the illness had taken its toll on her body. During the long recovery period, Naomi found yoga. Over time and with consistent practice she was able to regain the weight she had lost, build up strength, and increase her range of motion.
The decision to deepen her practice and become a yoga teacher was an easy one to make; it was only natural for her to take this gift she had received and share it with others. Naomi's vinyasa style classes range from upbeat and energetic to calming and restorative. While she places great emphasis on alignment and core connection, Naomi's main focus is guiding individuals towards practicing yoga completely in the moment. She assists students as they work with their day-to-day fluctuations in strength and flexibility, demonstrates how to work with their body's limitations, and helps them to realize that where they are in a pose is exactly where they are supposed to be.
Naomi received her 500 hour (200 RYT) certification through David Vendetti and the Body Awakening Teacher Training and continues to study with him.
Patty Kantlehner, RYT
Patty, a passionate student and teacher of yoga and nutrition, and a former marathon runner and trainer has been enjoying practicing yoga for 6 years. As a corporate executive studying for her MBA she was seeking a way to relieve stress. She was drawn to study Bikram Yoga and then 3 years ago she found the Baptiste Power Vinyasa practice and has been hooked on Yoga ever since. Her fun loving teaching style creates a comfortable space for students of all levels to discover their bodies through combining fluid movement and deepened breathe.
"I like to encourage my students to take their yoga off the mat and into their lives, and translate the fundamentals of balance, strength, flexibility, flow and presence into healthier relationships and a more gratifying, balanced, relaxed lifestyle."
Patty has completed Level 1 and Level 2 Power Vinyasa Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste and is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor. She is also a certified Health Counselor through Integrative Nutrition in New York City. She continues to transform her life and her teaching by taking workshops and additional teacher trainings all over the world.
Patty is currently teaching at the Cambridge Women's Center in Central Square and has taught young children in the Cambridge after-school programs.
Mary Reece, RYT
Mary Reece has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years. Her classes incorporate Vinyasa flow with the alignment focus of Iyengar to form intelligent movements with attention to detail and alignment.
"I hope to create an environment where a yoga student can find calmness and clarity of mind during practice with the intention being to take this inner peace off the yoga mat and into daily life."
Mary received her 200-hour yoga certification through YogaWorks in Los Angeles. When she's not doing yoga, Mary enjoys cooking and entertaining.
