Susan Shaver, MAOM LicAc
Susan has been practicing Acupuncture at Balanced Health since 2008 and uses an integrative approach to health and wellness, working with each patient toward optimum health and well-being. Susan draws equally from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the Japanese styles of Meridian Therapy and has developed a special expertise helping clients with infertility, weight loss, chronic pain and sports injuries.
"My philosophy is to combine acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional changes, and lifestyle education, to meet the unique needs of each individual."
Susan received her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the New England School of Acupuncture, the oldest acupuncture school in the U.S. She continued her herbal post-graduate studies with master herbalist Dr. Tao Xie, MD (China) Lic.Ac, learning effective and powerful herbal strategies for treating many acute and chronic conditions. Susan also enjoys hiking, reading and cooking.
Jessica Shaw, MAOM LicAc
Jessica Shaw was raised in South East Asia and has a dual degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Chinese Acupuncture and Japanese Acupuncture. Jessica has been practicing Acupuncture at Balanced Health since 2008 and has developed a widebase of clients who come to see her for everything from stress and pain management to depression and women's health issues such as infertility.
"I love the problem-solving aspect of Chinese Medicine. Whether it's a headache or major depression, I love seeing how acupuncture helps not only solve problems, but also helps people transform their lives."
Jessica graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 2006 and was nominated for the Compassionate Healer Award. Jessica has had advanced training with Japanese Masters and specializes in stress and pain management, anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress disorder. She holds a BA in anthropology from Barnard College of Columbia University. Jessica also works at Harvard Medical School's Osher Institute as a medical anthropologist on studies of Chinese Medicine, meditation and tai chi. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys biking, traveling and going to concerts.
